The Carpenter Bee Chamber is a device designed to trap and kill carpenter bees before they drill egg chamber holes in other areas of your home. Female carpenter bees are attracted to existing holes since it is quicker and easier for them to reuse an old nesting chamber than it is to excavate out a new one. Once bees enter one of the pre-drilled holes in the Carpenter Bee Chamber they get stuck to the enhanced adhesive that lines the back side of the the chamber and die. Since a carpenter bee can drill several chambers during the nesting season, reducing the population of carpenter bees around your home will decrease the total number of new chambers you see each year.

In most areas of the country carpenter bee activity begins in early spring, typically mid-March to early April. It's important to get the Carpenter Bee Chamber in place as soon as you notice any activity. Although the Carpenter Bee Chamber can be stained to match your home, we strongly recommend that they be left bare since carpenter bees prefer to infest bare wood. At the end of carpenter bee season, usually mid to late June, you can remove the chamber, clean it out and store it until next season.

Instructions for use
Tools required: medium size phillips screwdriver.

Remove the Carpenter Bee Chamber from its package. Two Phillips head screws are included with each unit. Start by inserting the screws in the two pre-drilled holes on the labeled side and twist them in until the tip of the screw is even with the back side if the board.

The fascia unit (one line of holes along the edge) should be installed on the inside or outside of your existing fascia with the label facing outward and the holes along the bottom. The bottom edge of the unit should be even with the existing fascia. Once aligned, hold in place and attach by twisting the screws into the fascia.

The soffit unit (two lines of holes along the face) should be placed anywhere along the eaves or soffits where past carpenter bee activity has occurred. Hold in place with the label facing out and attach by twisting the screws into the underlying wood.
