SpringStar Fruit Fly Trap
Fruit flies, also known as vinegar flies or drain flies, feed and breed in fruits, vegetables or fermented products. Adult flies are attracted to ripe or overripe fruit, garbage, fresh compost or fermentation products (juices, beer, wine, vinegar, etc) and lay their eggs on or near them. New flies emerge in 8 to 10 days in the summer. Long term use of the Fruit Fly Trap will reduce troubling infestations without the use of toxic chemicals. The SpringStar Fruit Fly trap uses color and glue aroma to attract flies to a very sticky glue, where they are trapped and killed. Using an attractant, such as vinegar, beer or fresh-cut fruit especially tomato or banana will attract more flies quickly. For outdoor fruit flies attacking fruit on trees, such as apple maggot or cherry fruit fly, see the Silva Yellow Sticky Traps for farm use.
