Bio-Balanced Fly Control Program

Treatment Schedule and Prescriptions

Treatments are always measured in units. A unit consists of 8 ounces of parasitized fly pupae mixed with 8 ounces of wood shavings, for shipping protection. A unit contains approximately 10,000 parasitized fly pupae which yield from one to fifteen parasites, depending on the species.

Biocontrol Network supplies the following species of fly parasites:

Nasonia vitripennis: multiple breeder, laying five to fifteen eggs per pupae. Adaptable to all climates.

Muscidifurax zaraptor: single breeder, laying one egg per pupae. Adaptable to all climates.

Each facility will vary in terms of budget, fly control standards, and sanitation management; therefore, the keys below provide approximations only, and may occassionaly require slight adjustments.
