Sonic Technologies Ultrasonic Rodent Repeller
The Ultrasonic Rodent Repeller, broadcasts a highly complex intense sound in the ultrasonic range. The intensity for a rodent is analogous to a jackhammer next to our ears. The intense sound creates stress for the rodent. In the animal kingdom, a stressed rodent is vulnerable. Avoiding stressful environments increases the chance for survival and is within the rodent's biological survival strategy. The Rodent Repeller creates a hostile environment so rodents naturally will try to void it and avoid taking up residency and nesting in the space.
Both models of Rodent Repellers feature solid state components, and is one of the most powerful electronic generators available. The Rodent Repeller produces complex soundwaves in a sweeping frequency range of 32 to 64 kHz . The complex signal pulses at 60-80 times per second. Rodents easily hear the sound generated in rooms up to approximately 800 square feet of unobstructed space. Rodents however, cannot adapt to the complex signal which is constantly changing. This swept frequency feature separates our Rodent Repeller from most products on the market today.
The Single speaker model RRS100 is one single speaker which broadcasts at a range of approximately 110db measured at one meter from the speaker.
The Triple speaker model RR3SPK, has three speakers, each broadcasting at approximately the same level of sound.
The sound pressure level (dB output) is a function of design and power input to the transducer and is the same for both models. While the effective distance to create the repelling effect will not change with multiple speakers, the range of coverage and therefore effectiveness potential will definitely be improved with the triple speaker unit. The Ultra unit broadcasts in a 180 degree arc, broadcasting both front and sides. There will be fewer sound shadow areas in a room with a 3 speaker unit placed than with the single speaker unit.
The Ultrasonic Tool
Ultrasound consists of electronically generated ultrasonic sound waves, broadcast at a high volume. It can cause rodents to avoid a sound protected area. While the sound can't be heard by humans, domestic pets, farm animals, birds, or fish, research proves it is irritating to rodents (including hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs and rabbits), and can cause them to leave the transmitting area.
What is Ultrasound?
It is sound waves with frequencies too high to be heard by human ear. The average person can hear sound waves ranging from 20 up to 20,000 cycles per second, while dogs perceive sounds up to 27,000 per second, and the range of other animal's is even higher. When measured electronically, these frequencies are expressed in hertz, defined as a unit equal to one cycle per second. So ultrasonic sound waves are frequencies over 20 kilohertz.
Using your rodent repeller
Mount on the wall. Best placement is 0.5 to 1 m off the floor with the speaker grill aimed at known problem areas.
Ultrasonic sound is highly directional and will be reflected by hard surfaces to literally fill a room with the sound pressure.
The rodent repeller should be used in rooms where signs of mouse or rat activity is observed, particularly in areas where food is consumed, prepared or stored.
Storage areas and paper products often attract mice and rats.
How it works
The rodent repeller produces ultrasonic waves in a frequency range of 30kHz to 64 kHz at 105 to 112dB from the ultrasonic device.
Can repel rodents from areas where ultrasonic soundwaves are present. Use the rodent repeller with other pest control methods in controlling rats and mice.
Homes and apartments, farm buildings, boats and RV's, domestic kennels and stables.
Easy to use - compact unit plugs into any 110 VAC wall outlet. Won't affect humans, domestic pets, farm animals, birds or fish; doesn't interfere with radio or television sets, electrical appliances, garage door openers, or pacemakers.
Repels rats and mice. (Do not keep rodent pets, gerbils, rabbits, hamsters or guinea pigs in an ultrasonically protected area)
