Purple Scale Predator
This black ladybeetle thrives in temperatures of 59-77 degrees F and a relative humidity of 20-90%. Have been observed to be active into the low 40's. The primary prey of both the larvae and adults are soft scales, including black, brown, and red, although they may eat mealybugs and smaller insects. Lindorus can live up to a year, depositing eggs where they find clusters of scale.
Release rates: 3-5 beetles/sq. yd. for light infestations or 4-6/sq. yd for heavy infestations. 10-40 adults per tree, depending on how fast you need results. In orchards and fields, release 1,000-2,000/acre, two times, about 3 weeks apart.
